My First Run: Time to Focus

It was five years between the last time I ran to exercise, and last Sunday. I made it a third of a mile without stopping. and it felt good to do. To know that before I couldnt run across the street without loosing my breath, to running much further and still be in decent shape was amazing. I have decided to move up my goal of the 2012 San Francisco Half, to this upcoming year, 2011. Therefore its time to train for it. I will be spending the next week building my workout schedule for the next 9 months to prepare for the run. My goal is to survive the half without stopping to walk. Thats the goal. It will be painful, and uncomfortable. But it needs to be done. Its not enough to lose weight, I have to put my body in motion towards a goal to ensure it happens.

  2. I think moving the race date up a year is a great idea. It should help keep you focused and nine months should be plenty of time. Best of luck man.
